The Rebbe’s legacy
The Rebbe’s Legacy of Jewish Outreach
Connect worldwide Jewish education and practical mitzvot to responsibility in a local community.
The Rebbe encouraged reaching Jews in many places and circumstances with learning, mitzvot and community connection. Chabad emissaries and centers continue that work through programs responsive to their local communities.
Continuing a mission does not mean every person must create a new institution. Teaching a small class, helping a center or welcoming a learner can be meaningful when done reliably. Learn from qualified leadership and the people being served rather than assuming a successful program elsewhere will fit every place.
A place to begin
- Identify one local need instead of starting with a grand claim.
- Ask an established center how you can help.
- Choose a commitment you can maintain responsibly.
